AMAZON IS ABOUT TO BUILD A NEW CLOUD STORAGE CENTER IN KOREA

Just launched nearly a year, Amazon's cloud services are miraculously growing.

The head of business cloud computing Amazon Web Services, Mr. Andy Jassy stood on the stage of the annual conference organized by Amazon, to talk about a new era of cloud computing.

Amazon now has thousands of corporate customers using its AWS service. With freedom tool allowing businesses to easily transfer their data from rival platforms such as Oracle to Amazon's service.

Although Oracle has a powerful and well-managed database platform, many customers feel the cost of using this service is not really fair, along with Oracle’s tough rules. However, they also do not have many other options, as the largest technology company providing cloud services like Microsoft always sets strict regulations for its customers. Therefore, AWS is seen as the perfect choice for small start-ups.

Many customers also require Amazon to improve and enhance the quality and quantity of its data centers.

In 2016, Amazon will open one new data center in Korea to promote Web trade activities as well as compete with other cloud computing companies such as Google and Microsoft in the Asian market. Facilities at this center will cater for Amazon Web Services activities, cloud processing, data storing and renting services of Amazon for companies with requirements.

The new data center of Amazon is built based on requirements from its customers, including Samsung and many other gaming companies. In addition, the data center will also help Amazon add new customers, including government organizations as well as large companies who need to store data in Korea.

Some countries or companies often have strict requirements of special data such as medical reports. These data cannot stay outside the country or one defined areas. Therefore, building the center in Korea will increase the competitive advantage of the Amazon cloud services. Not only that, it also helps to reduce the response time and increase the operating speed for cloud applications launched from Korea.

The cloud computing service Amazon Web Services is now serving multiple clients such as Pinterest or Netflix. Korea will be the fifth center of Amazon Web Services in Asia. Apart from South Korea, Amazon will build one data center in China with another center in India. The time data center in Korea comes in operation will improve the number of Amazon’s storage data center to figure 12.
